As a Hitachi shopper there are a few features that we feel you should know that will you choose a product that best suites your needs:
Interactive whiteboards
A computer is normally controlled by a mouse, however, with an interactive whiteboard you can touch the board to control the mouse cursor instead. As you move your finger across the whiteboard, displaying the computer image, the mouse cursor follows. You simply tap the screen twice with your finger to perform the normal double-click as you would do with your mouse. This is advantageous as you can control all the computer actions from the front of the class or meeting room. You can also write or draw on the whiteboard with your finger or the pens provided and save the image to the computer. These images, which are your notes from the meeting or training session, can then be printed or emailed. The software included with some interactive whiteboards also has built in Optical Character Recognition, which means can write on the screen and the compute will recognize your hand writing and turn it into computer text.
There are two types of Interactive whiteboards, Front Projection & Rear Projection.
- Front Projection Whiteboards
Front Projection Whiteboards have the projector in front of the whiteboard. The only downfall to these boards is that if the presenter stands in front of the screen, their body will cast shadows.
- Rear Projection Whiteboards
Since the evolution of Interactive Plasma Displays, most manufacturers have discontinued the production of Rear Projection Interactive Whiteboards. Please look at our collection of Interactive Plasma Displays if you need a high quality display or if you don't want to use a projector with your interactive whiteboard.
Interactive Plasma Display
A Interactive Plasma display is a large wide-screen monitor, from 32" to 84" in size, which has the advantage of being very thin so that it can be hung on walls. Plasma screens can be used with computers and video recorders/DVD players etc. Unlike front projection interactive whiteboards the presenter, while presenting on the plasma screen does not cast a shadow on the interactive whiteboard.
Interactive Panels
Interactive panels , when connected to your desktop / notebook computer and a projector, allow you to face your audience whilst you control, edit and annotate computer applications directly from the interactive panel.
Bluetooth Tablets
A Bluetooth tablet is used to annotate presentations and run computer applications in meetings rooms and classrooms while moving about in the room. The bluetooth tablet communicates with the computer through a wireless Bluetooth interface. The bluetooth tablet is battery operated, as is its pen. Consequently, it is a completely wireless device providing complete freedom to move about the room while delivering presentations
Multimedia Projectors
A multimedia projector takes the image that is normally displayed on a computer screen and projects it onto a large white projector screen. This allows everything that would appear on the computer screen to be seen by everyone in the room. Projectors are called 'multimedia' projectors because you can also use them with an audio/visual source such as a video recorder, DVD player or satellite system
